Hi all!! Happy Family Day weekend to all my Canadian friends! Hope it was wonderful! Well I will start out with my one day late TUSAL update:It is coming along nicely! It had a little boost from a fight that my floss and I had. The floss won and ended up in the TUSAL vase instead of in my project!
I haven't gotten a lot of stitching time over the last little bit. I spent most of my time working on the baby announcement for my BIL's baby. Not the greatest picture, sorry, but it is coming along pretty good. The stitching looks like it ia all over the place, but surprising the back actually doesn't look horrible...yet!
This week I would like to focus on my HAED. It is also coming along, slowly but surely. It takes a bit more concentration so that I can keep Mr.Frog away!
And as a great start to this week, I received on of my blog contest prizes. Angela stitched up a cute little Lizzie Kate pinkeep for me as my prize for guessing her mystery stitching project. It is so gorgeous!! It is especially great because it is my first blog contest win and my very first pinkeep!! Thanks Angela, I absolutely adore my prize!! Here you go, now you can all drool as I did when I saw it!!I hope everyone is doing well! Thanks for reading my blog and enjoy reading all of yours too! Have a great week!!

2010 list of projects
WARNING!!! This is a long post, simple easy to read but long!
Okay, I think I have finally figured out what I am going to be working on this year. A couple massive long term projects, a couple medium sized and some unknown small ones to keep my motivation up throughout the year. So for my BIL's baby due in June I will be doing the Baby Express Birth Record. Here is my progress so far:
And then for my BIL's wedding I will be doing First Love Wedding Record. The wedding is in October so I want to get a good start on the birth record before I dive into the wedding pattern.
Then I have my HAED project that I mentioned before. A Purrfect Morning is soo cute and I want to do it for my mom since she collects angels and I know she will love it. I am realizing though, since I do want to work on other projects, and I have 3 young children that I need to pay attention to, that September 2011 may be a bit too short of a timeline, considering the intricacy of the HAED patterns. We'll see how it goes! I have a small (I do mean small)start on this project, here it is:
I have the Xitch SAL too, which is the other massive project, but I am wondering if it is too big. I think I will keep working on it slowly and maybe the excitement will come back. Probabyl not a good sign that I am losing interest so quickly after starting it...
I am very tempted by the LHN ornament of the month series. They are so cute and I may have to add a couple of them into my rotation. They would be great Christmas gifts!! I would also like to practice some different finishes, at the top of my list is a scissor fob, so that will likely be the next small that I do.
I have been lucky in blog-land over the last month. I have won two giveaways! I was soo excited. The first is a Lizzie Kate pinkeep from Angela's blog and the second is an issue of JCS from Julie's blog. Thanks to these lovely ladies for the contests and once my winnings arrive I will post some photos!!
Oh and last but not least, speaking of giveaway's, head on over to Elaine's blog for her fabulous Valentine's giveaway!
Thanks for reading, hope everyone is doing well! Happy stitching!

2010 projects
I have been trying to figure out what I am going to work on this year and I am pretty close narrowing it down. I am going to try to post a list in the next couple days once I get it all figured out! So I have my massive Xitch SAL 'The Moon' (the group still exists on facebook, but the Xitch website will be going out of business; I do have the full pattern now though if anyone is interested) that will be WIP for years I am sure. I am also adding another big project that will take me awhile. I am going to attempt to stitch HAED's 'Purrfect Morning' for my moms birthday in September next year. Might be a stretch, but I am gonna see how it goes! Since those are both long term projects I have a couple smaller ones I would like to finish in the meantime. My BIL/SIL are having a baby in spring and I would like to stitch an announcement for them, as well as something for their wedding in the fall. I also found some cute quick projects I'd like to do for my kids. Like I said I am hoping to post a complete list with pics/links in the next couple days. I have a feeling that the list is going to be a long one! Hope everyone is well, thanks for reading and happy stitching!

First 2010 finish!!
I am so excited I finished my biscornu tonight! I think it turned out pretty good for a first attempt. Here are some pics:
The pictures are all over the place, sorry!! But I am done! Yay my first finish for 2010, feels good! It was not too hard to do, finishing the closing was a bit challenging but overall I enjoyed it.
I dismantled one of muy kids teddy bears that was heading out for donation to stuff this project. My hubby was mortified but my kids won't even notice so I didn't feel bad at all. I have a pic of the teddy and his open wound but since I am having pic problems tonight it may have to wait for another post. Good night all!!

My first biscornu
To offset some of the rather hefty projects that I am planning on doing over the next little while I am hoping to also do some smaller projects so that I can actually feel as though I have accomplished something! So my first project is a biscornu! I have never done one before but I think after watching a few tutorials, I am ready! I decided to just do a simple pattern on some scrap aida I found in my old x-stitch bag, just in case it doesn't turn out! Here are some pictures of the stitched pattern and hopefully I will have a completed biscornu to show you soon! I can't seem to pinpoint the link for the pattern but hopefully I will soon, and then I will post it! Happy stitching!

Kids are asleep, hubby is at a movie, so time for a TUSAL update and then onto my project! The TUSAL is a great no pressure SAL that you participate in by collecting all your little waste bits in a jar and sharing the progress on the new moon of every month. Find out more info and sign up on Yoyo's blog So here is my first update:

My 'first' endeavor
Not a true first endeavor but the first of my relaunched cross stitch hobby. I thought one way for me to get back into cross stitching was to do a SAL. I had honestly never heard of a SAL until I read about it on Nicole's blog. Nicole shall from here on be known as my inspiration!! So I searched and found a group on Facebook sponsored by Xitch. Being a newbie, this might be a bit ambitious but I thought it would be fun to give it a try. Each week a new page of the pattern is released. Here the picture of the project:
And here is my progress so far:
I have about 1100 stitches done. It is a gigantic project that will be amazing when I finish! With the pages being released a week at a time, the project should take around a year to finish, if one can keep up with that pace! I think I might need to find a stand to put it on because it is quite a bit of fabric to cope with!
On another note here is a little giveaway I also found out about from my inspiration on Julie's blog. Enter to win one of four magazines!

My first blogging experience!
Ok so I am VERY new to blogging...yes I know very behind in the times! But here I am! I was recently inspired to start cross stitching again by a co-workers daughter. And through her blog I found that blogging is a great way to see what cross stitchers are up to and learn lots of new stuff. i have not cross stitched fro about 5 years and before that I was a relative newbie, so I am still fairly green but really excited! I also love to scrapbook, both traditional and digital. So hopefully I be able to keep this blog up to date with all my WIP and whatever else I decide to share!
